On July 7th 2010, WanderKitchen launches a charity shop – sustainable donation shop to make a contribution to the world welfare. The shop name is “troves”, means hidden property or treasure.
It stands one minute on foot from An-yoin temple, the space where used to be jenteco before. We have used there as a warehouse, and then re-open as a charity shop at the moment.

The concept is “Make tomorrow for little children who have no choice”, that is “to take medical treatment and food to them certainly.” We make money by selling donated clothes and goods from neighbors, and entire sales after paying wages and rent will be forwarded to children who need support thorough Save the Children Japan.



ワンダーキッチン・プロジェクトでは、2010年７月７日、念願だったサステナブル(持続可能)な循環型社会貢献店舗をオープンしました。店名は『troves=トローヴス』、埋蔵財宝や貴重な収集物といった意味です。場所は、安養院から歩いて1分、昨年までjentecoのあった場所です。それまで、一時倉庫として使っていた物件を復活させる形で再オープンしました。
「選択肢のない幼子に医療と食糧を」をコンセプトに、寄付された衣類や日用品、雑貨等を販売することで換金し、販売員の日当と店舗家賃を除いた全額を「セーブ・ザ・チルドレン・ジャパン」を通じて、支援を必要とする子どもたちにダイレクトに届けることを旨とします。英国では、こうした形の社会貢献店をチャリティショップと呼び、どの街にも必ずといってよいほど存在し、人々は何かが欲しい時、まずそこを覗く、という習慣が根付いています。

我が街・鎌倉にまずその第一歩を、と考えたのは、もう随分前だったのですが、ようやく最近、グループ内の店舗も落ち着き、売り上げも安定してきたのを機に実行に踏み切る運びとなりました。家庭で眠っていた品々（troves）を寄付することで家の中が片づく→お店でリーズナブルに掘り出し物を買うことで寄付となり→世界中の子どもたちの生きる喜びとなる。リサイクル・リユースという物の再生が可能になるうえ、人類の宝であるべき小さい命（troves）に息を吹き込むことにつながるのです。そんなhappyな循環がこの街・鎌倉の人々の日々の暮らしに息づくよう、私たちtrovesは身近な存在でありたいと願っています。どうぞ、皆様でご利用ください。
